Ric Chetter - From Radioland

In Part 2 of the story, Ric talks of the good times and where things began to get scary. When corporate machines look more at the bottom line than the actual product, bad decisions get made. In this episode, you will hear how Ric went from one side of the mic to the other. How you truly don't have that much control of your own future in this environment. The high anticipations and the depressing lows and what set the stage for the final blows that would kill the dreams of employees and fans alike. For the premiere of season 3, Ric begins the tale of what led him to build Radio Memphis. This is the first part of a three part series of episodes where Ric tells the story, from his perspective, of the events that occurred throughout his career in terrestrial radio. From his humble start in a radio station in San Antonio, Texas through his television career and all the things that happened in Memphis. Over the next three episodes, Ric will explain what it was like to find himself in the strange and often difficult world of broadcast TV and radio. It culminates with his recollection of his time in morning drive in Memphis and working with John "Baddog" McCormack.

Ric gets into the trenches for the upcoming war between the terrestrial and cyber worlds. The FCC wants to control the web. We all know that. However, the real problem is privacy and the main red herring is Facebook. This episode is the season two finale and a big surprise for the upcoming season three start happens in this episode. In meantime, cover your ass and keep your private stuff to yourself.

The golden age of the internet is upon us all. It is a free range, lawless environment. Truly, the last great frontier. Now the FCC wants to ride into town and control it at the whim of the wealthy corporation who stand to make the most money from it. Thankfully, there has been a large backlash from the people. Not that it matters though. Money talks in this world and in the cyber world. In this episode, Ric elaborates on this concept and other concepts and theories where the table has been set for the fight over cyber space.

Ric & Jeff sit down and take the new board out for a test drive. Along the way, they talk about school, cats, rats and the unfortunate placement of some pop tart crumbs. Ric takes you on a tour of historic Elmwood Cemetery. This place has 90,000 permanent residents. In this episode, Ric tells the story of one of these residents, Thomas D. Byrd. Probably no one you have ever heard of. By the end of this show, you will know about Mr. Byrd and the rather remarkable story behind his life. Ric gets into his car and goes for a drive. After finding a nice quiet spot, Ric talks about the nature of greed in today's society and the whole entitlement generation that seems to exist all around us. Is there hope for the future? Surprisingly, there might be some hope for all us. Then there are a whole, large group of people who are forced into a life they never bargained for, just to stay alive. 

Ric & Jeff sit down with Dean Zachary. Dean is an illustrator for DC comics and other comic book companies. These three guys completely geek out over the world of comic books and the movies they inspire. If you are a science fiction nerd, then, this show is for you. Kick back and relax and come to the dark side for a bit. The dark side of nerdom and all the cool things happening in that world.

Ric spends some time in the park on a nice, sunny afternoon among kids playing soccer, a girl reading a book, a guy painting a picture on an easel and man flying a drone. He spills the beans on a project he is working on and discovers, to his dismay, the batteries are dying fast. Completely unprepared (as usual), he covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time.
