Ric Chetter - From Radioland

For the past three years, Radio Memphis existed in the back of a house in midtown Memphis. Not any more. The station has now moved into a really special place. This episode was recorded in the new spot just before the station itself was physically moved into this new spot. There was quite a bit of history recorded in this spot. Ric talks about some of the history that has occurred here and the look forward to the new things about to happen in one of the coolest spots a radio station could ever exist in a place such as this.

This episode follows directly the previous episode about being watched. The difference here is that Ric goes into the whole conspiracy theory people who hold their truths so close, they can be quite dangerous. Are you going to die of ebola? Probably not. Was 9/11 an inside job? Nope. Is Alex Jones the savior we are all looking for? Definitively not. He is a clueless fear monger who is leader of the whack jobs who stand at busy intersections trying to make you believe that the U.S. government exists specifically for some nefarious means.

Ric has his eye on you. He may be judging you as well. Hey, we all do it including the federal government. They are watching you, they are recording you and they are tracking your every online move. Is it paranoia? Not really. If you are looking to live "off the grid", you might be surprised to find out that is an impossible dream anymore. Especially if you can't live without any modern conveniences. Think of this episode as part one of a two part series. Next week, Ric takes the concept of being watched to the level of a conspiracy.

What we perceive in this world rarely matches up with think about a certain thing. In fact, he's a very funny and witty guy with some great stories of his time in terrestrial radio. Ric caught up with Jaeci and waxed a bit nostalgic of the early days of their careers and some of the secrets a lot of radio listeners might not know about or are even aware of.

Dianna Fryer sits down with Ric in this episode about the theories and philosophies of working in show business. Specifically, the radio business. Ric drags Dianna through an amusing conversation about what it takes to be successful in the broadcasting business. Internet radio is here to stay and the differences between live internet radio, the streamers and the sad world of terrestrial. The conversation takes some wild turns and for anyone curious as to how Radio Memphis operates, this will prove to be an amusing show.
