Ric Chetter - From Radioland

Here is part 2 of Ric's conversation with Dianna Fryer. Think of this as a peek into the inner workings of Radio Memphis, among other things. In this part of the conversation, Dianna talks about self improvement, the future of Radio Memphis and the people have encountered along the way to get the station to the place it is now. Good things indeed and a bright 2015 looks promising to the people at the radio station. Also, Ric and Dianna talk about getting a particular guest on this podcast. 

The GM of Pirate Radio Studios, Inc. and Radio Memphis sat down with Ric to talk some business. She explains her involvement with NAMM in Los Angeles, CA later in the month along with her involvement with an organization that supports women in the entertainment business. Also, Ric gets under her skin... again.

This is the final episode of 2014. Here Ric takes a brief look back at the year that was. Also, he talks about new year resolutions and why they are such a bad idea. The way the passing of time is celebrated this time of year and how the cops are looking for "you". Ric will also tell you why he often thinks of New Year's Eve as "Rookie Night" in that the cops are looking for you (in particular) and despite avoiding law enforcement through most of the night, some of you will actually attract the police by setting of fireworks. Words of advice and good tidings in this time of year.

It's the week of Christmas and it is just another day of the week. At least, according to Ric. In this holiday episode, Ric takes a look at the holiday through the eyes of someone who doesn't really celebrate this time of the year. But worse than the holiday cheer is the dreaded office party. Should you get bombed at the annual company party and tell off your boss? Or worse, should you save it for your spouse's office party and tell of THAT boss instead?

Social Media is one of those things that seems to be here for good. Since it has only been around for a relatively short amount of time, people are still trying to come to grips with it. In this episode, Ric takes an interesting look at what he has seen on social media and what seems to have been the impact of social media outside in the real world. The difference is that social media seems to be everything that is not social. In his argument, Ric believes social media should be renamed "Selfish Media". You decide.

Like the old Rolling Stones song, the adage seems more true now than ever. In this episode, Ric takes a look at the simplicities of life and just how hard it can be to get exactly what you want. The customer is not always right and thanks to the internet, the instant gratification of a purchase seems to be disappearing. The mob mentality rules in all things and Ric will explain how this effects all of us all the way down to the mundane day to day things we do in life.
 

Imagine the predicament Bill Cosby must find himself in at the moment. Ric does. In this episode, Ric will take a look at the situation from the point of view of the media. Is there such a thing as fair coverage of a story such as this? Also, Ric will ask a couple of difficult questions in regards to the situation and what it means to the people who were once fans of someone famous and those that still are. It's a heavy topic, but Ric felt it needed to be addressed.

With more and more talk of the U.S. government getting involved in some sort of regulation of the internet, Ric felt he had to speak his mind on the subject. In this episode, he will explain what net neutrality is and how it would affect you and the websites you enjoy including internet driven services like Netflix. Ric also explains just what the FCC was all about during the heyday of radio and TV. Just what is the cost of saying a dirty word under the FCC's watch? Ric will tell you exactly what that is.

Life is tough. It can be even tougher if you are constantly being kicked in the balls. It happens to all of us at one point or another in our lives. Here of late, Ric seems like he's been kicked in the balls on a daily basis. In this episode, Ric talks about the scenarios regarding such instances and how he deals with it. In other words, there are good days and bad days. This is the season four premiere and it takes place in Studio A. The studio home of the podcast. When you think about the real place called "Radioland", it's in Studio A and Ric will explain.

Hunter S. Thompson famously spoke of the music business. This quote is often attributed to other businesses, but the original quote is as follows. "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." In this episode, Ric elaborates on this adage and takes a look at the business at the very bottom level.
