Sunday Feb 08, 2015
Sunday Feb 08, 2015
Sometimes we come across people who inspire us and when we do, we try to reach out to them and talk to those people. Ric did that very thing when he reached out to Josh Robert Thompson. Josh was the voice of Geoff Peterson from The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (among many other voices). Josh is a working comedian and voice actor. For more about Josh you can find him at his website. There you can find out the dates of his current tour with Craig Ferguson and episodes of his podcast Joshin' Around. For more on this episode, you can see what Ric has to say at his personal page.

Doing it has been a blast for us and we are looking forward to bringing you expanded content and new things in the second year of production. Plus, you won't want to miss the tease for the final show of the production year. It is a small look at what is coming in the next year all From Radioland.

Episode 50: Kids These Days
Sunday Jan 25, 2015
Sunday Jan 25, 2015
There is a generation of people among us who have been vilified and probably for good reason. In this episode, Ric takes a look at the Millenial Generation. This is a group of people who are coming of age right now. The children of people who are Ric's age. Naturally, Ric has an issue with this generation and is not afraid of being labeled as an "old man" or some one who just doesn't "get it". But, this generation out there are in the driver's seat. They are the one who are steering the media we consume and how we are going to consume such stuff. Oddly, the "old man" is working in those lines and has been doing so for some time now. Of course, the Millenial Generation may be taking umbrage with that. However, does this generation have anything of worth to offer the world?

Episode 49: God & Guns
Sunday Jan 18, 2015
Sunday Jan 18, 2015
In the wake of the Charlie Hebdo shootings in Paris, France, Ric decided it was time to take a look at how comedy has now become a weapon in a society where some individuals bent on forcing their religion onto the rest of the world. In this episode, Ric gets into the touchy subject of free speech in a world where some governments based on religious laws have real problems with people who don't agree with such rules. A bit of a warning here, the subject matter of this episode might be considered offensive to some and indeed there are some countries where the playing of this episode could be dangerous to those who live in such places. If that wasn't enough, Ric tells a Mohammad joke.

Episode 48: Dianna (part 2)
Sunday Jan 11, 2015
Sunday Jan 11, 2015
Here is part 2 of Ric's conversation with Dianna Fryer. Think of this as a peek into the inner workings of Radio Memphis, among other things. In this part of the conversation, Dianna talks about self improvement, the future of Radio Memphis and the people have encountered along the way to get the station to the place it is now. Good things indeed and a bright 2015 looks promising to the people at the radio station. Also, Ric and Dianna talk about getting a particular guest on this podcast.

Episode 46: Happy Old Year
Sunday Dec 28, 2014
Sunday Dec 28, 2014
This is the final episode of 2014. Here Ric takes a brief look back at the year that was. Also, he talks about new year resolutions and why they are such a bad idea. The way the passing of time is celebrated this time of year and how the cops are looking for "you". Ric will also tell you why he often thinks of New Year's Eve as "Rookie Night" in that the cops are looking for you (in particular) and despite avoiding law enforcement through most of the night, some of you will actually attract the police by setting of fireworks. Words of advice and good tidings in this time of year.

Episode 45: Happy Holidays, Damnit
Sunday Dec 21, 2014
Sunday Dec 21, 2014
It's the week of Christmas and it is just another day of the week. At least, according to Ric. In this holiday episode, Ric takes a look at the holiday through the eyes of someone who doesn't really celebrate this time of the year. But worse than the holiday cheer is the dreaded office party. Should you get bombed at the annual company party and tell off your boss? Or worse, should you save it for your spouse's office party and tell of THAT boss instead?

Episode 44: Anti-Social Media
Sunday Dec 14, 2014
Sunday Dec 14, 2014
Social Media is one of those things that seems to be here for good. Since it has only been around for a relatively short amount of time, people are still trying to come to grips with it. In this episode, Ric takes an interesting look at what he has seen on social media and what seems to have been the impact of social media outside in the real world. The difference is that social media seems to be everything that is not social. In his argument, Ric believes social media should be renamed "Selfish Media". You decide.

Episode 43: You Can't (Always) Get What You Want
Sunday Dec 07, 2014
Sunday Dec 07, 2014
Like the old Rolling Stones song, the adage seems more true now than ever. In this episode, Ric takes a look at the simplicities of life and just how hard it can be to get exactly what you want. The customer is not always right and thanks to the internet, the instant gratification of a purchase seems to be disappearing. The mob mentality rules in all things and Ric will explain how this effects all of us all the way down to the mundane day to day things we do in life.
