Ric Chetter - From Radioland

In this episode From Radioland (not recognized by Choose 901), Ric has an honest talk about the current state of emergency room bureaucracy. In an incident that occurred last week, Ric found himself in the ER with his wife, Josephine. He'll tell you the story from his perspective. Also, his observations of the other people in the ER and the stories they were telling anyone who would listen. Plus, music from The RV's featuring Billy Gibson.  

The battle lines have been drawn and it doesn't look good for fans of Memphis' midtown park. The Memphis City Council along with the Mayor of Memphis decided to turn over control of a large part of the park over to the Memphis City Zoo. As you can imagine, there are some pretty upset people over this decision. Even though this is not the end of the fight, it is looking more and more as though the citizens of Memphis and those who enjoy the park are going to lose. In this episode, Ric looks at what very well may happen if the zoo gets their way. Plus, music from The Thomas Jackson Orchestra.

Recently, Dave Lambert and Donna Dahl paid a visit to Radioland. Actually, they were on the air with Ric at Radio Memphis during an episode of Booze & Blues. They are known as Brother Sun Sister Moon. It was a good time and a great conversation. They came all the way from St. Paul, Minnesota to be in Memphis and to spend a little time with Ric to talk about the blues and all things music. Plus, you'll hear a cut from their current CD available right now.

He comes from a family of musicians and is the grandson of one R.L. Burnside. His current album is called Descendants of Hill Country and it has been nominated for a Grammy. Ric & Jeff sat down with Toni Green, Howard Grimes and John Gary Williams to talk about their work with the great Willie Mitchell. It is always a good time when Willie "Too Big" Hall comes to the studios. On a recent appearance on the Radio Memphis show, Booze & Blues, Willie talks to Ric and Jeff about his work with the Blues Brothers and recording with Isaac Hayes. There are some great stories in this show about the early days of Stax and being on the road as a travelling musician in those great early days. One of the most iconic people of wrestling stopped in the studio for a chat about the business of wrestling and being a part of one of America's top 100 moments of television. Jerry "The King" Lawler sat down with Ric and they talked about the growth of wrestling and what it was like working with Andy Kaufman and recreating the whole scenario with Jim Carrey for the movie Man On The Moon. Apparently, working with Jim Carrey was "difficult" as the story Jerry tells will prove.
