Sunday Apr 19, 2015
Sunday Apr 19, 2015
Something about our society lends itself into making stupid people famous. Most celebrities you know of are not that bright, seemingly. Not just the people you see in the movie theaters or your television, but all this begs the talk, just how stupid are our famous politicians?

Episode 59: You People, My Therapists
Sunday Mar 29, 2015
Sunday Mar 29, 2015
There is an old adage, "Quitters never win and winners never quit." The truth behind that statement is harder than just the folksy vibe it instills. In this episode, Ric talks about sacrifice, suffering, adapting to the current changes in our world today. The world is a cruel and hard place. It hasn't been easy for Ric and his crew. But here is the thing about this episode, we aren't the only ones who suffer and strive for some success. Some of you might be as well. As Ric talks about his situations, you might find some real common ground here. Is the doctor in? Yes. A bunch of doctors, you.

Episode 58: The Art of Being A Picky Whore
Sunday Mar 22, 2015
Sunday Mar 22, 2015
Part of the fun of being in show business is the fine art of being paid for what you do. In this episode, Ric talks about advertising in general and how we perceive it in the current day and time we live in. In the past, there was a major concern that we were all inundated with products being advertised to us. There is a balance to how it is done correctly and in this present day and age where we are all connected, the ads are everywhere and we have somehow evolved to a point where we can selectively tune it all out. So, how does Ric do it? By being a picky whore, that's how.

Episode 57: The Aliens Are Judging You
Sunday Mar 15, 2015
Sunday Mar 15, 2015
If there is in fact, advanced life elsewhere in the universe, they could be trying to figure us out based on what they see and hear through our broadcasts and the internet. This is what Ric gets into in this episode. Imagine, if you will, what it must be like for another civilization to judge us solely based on what we discuss in social media. It is kind of scary if you think about it. After all, we judge each other in that exact manner so it seems plausible that another advanced life could be deciding our ultimate fate based on all those cat videos. We are so doomed.

Episode 56: Eric Sommer
Sunday Mar 08, 2015
Sunday Mar 08, 2015
In the year this show has been in production, we find that there are a few firsts that we have endured From Radioland. Here is a first. In this episode, Ric will give you a look at what happens on the air at Radio Memphis. He sat down with singer and songwriter Eric Sommer for a great conversation and some good live music performed on the air. This episode contains the full conversation and all the songs Eric played on the air as it happened. We edited out the commercials but left the rest as it was. NOTE: There are several mentions of a performance that was to happen that evening. That already occurred. This is dated material in that aspect but a great look at what happens on Radio Memphis.

Episode 55: A Change Is Gonna Come
Sunday Mar 01, 2015
Sunday Mar 01, 2015
In this world, change is inevitable. Even if we don't want it to be that way. In this episode, Ric talks about some of the changes we have seen in this world, especially in the world of technology. Even that has it's own drawbacks. From the things we do everyday compared to the way things used to be. Why does Ric carry a bag wherever he goes? Change. American arrogance has now become a thing and for some reason, we as Americans are the most resistant to any type of change and that creates a humorous scenario for the rest of the world to witness.

Episode 54: Weather & Sports
Sunday Feb 22, 2015
Sunday Feb 22, 2015
In what may be kind of dated, Ric talks about the weather in Memphis and how drivers and citizens react and prepare for a little winter weather. Also, in this episode Ric talks about the world of sports. Along the way, he talks about people who think they know him but really don't. If you are a fan of NASCAR or the NFL, you are probably going to find some of the things Ric says about those two things a little off putting. Nevertheless, never a dull moment in Radioland.

Episode 53: The Agency Blues (Season 5 Premiere)
Sunday Feb 15, 2015
Sunday Feb 15, 2015
One of the key things internet broadcasters have to deal with is the simple act of monetizing. Advertising agencies want to see big numbers. When a broadcaster does bring those numbers, the rules seem to change. It all seems to be based in fear, of all things. In this episode, Ric takes a look (and a shot) at advertising agencies and their current attitudes toward the internet. Sadly, some of these companies still hold on to the "tried and true" terrestrial format even though 75 - 80 percent of the AM/FM audience has evaporated. Where did they go? To the internet. Is he ahead of the curve? You bet. What may seem like a good place to be, not so much.
