Episode 239: Ms. Zeno The Mojo Queen

This episode is a little different. It was decided we would do a CD release show on the air at Radio Memphis during the Booze & Blues show. At Ms. Zeno's request, we are making the entire thing public including the songs from her latest CD called Back in Love. You'll hear some of the stories about how this project was recorded, how some of the songs were written and how Ms. Zeno is perched to take the world by storm as one of the premiere singers from Memphis.

Episode 238: Mick Kolassa

An old friend of Radio Memphis, Mr. Mick Kolassa steps into the studio this time around with a brand new CD. You'll hear a couple of songs from it and learn how you can add it to your library, which is highly recommended. Also in this episode, Ric takes a shot at all of the so-called "experts" plying their trades on Facebook. He has made an interesting comparison between what happens away from the social media to what is happening on social media.

It's always a great tuime when Big T brings his show to the studio and this was certainly no different except this one thing. He brought the legendary Johnny Drummer with him to play some keys. That real Memphis blues sound is here and it was a great conversation and perfomance by Big T & The Family and it is exclusively right here. Also in this episode, Ric is starting to have issues with the Bird scooters.

What was it like for a young lady to find her way into show business and to later discover she had a top 10 hit? She'll tell you all about that in this episode. Take a look at your copy of Isaac Hayes' Hot Buttered Soul. Great album. All the guitar parts were recorded by Harold Beane. He inadvertantly became one of the most sampled guitar players in history. In this episode, Ric talks to Harold about being sampled and by whom. Also, Harold spent some time with Funkadelic. Oh yeah, there is story there. Also, one of the most powerful stories you'll ever hear about the plane crash that took the lives of Otis Redding and The Bar-Kays. Harold Beane was supposed to be on that flight. Episode 230: The Customer Service Blues

We all have those nightmare stories we share after dealing with some large corporation who doesn't care about you as person, or as a number for that matter. It happened to Ric and he picked up a trick along the way in dealing with these infernal situations. There may be no way out and certainly impossible to avoid, but it turns out, the judicisous application of adult language at just the right time can be quite beneficial.
