There is something to be said for a good old fashioned history lesson and that is exactly what is on tap for this episode. Taken from a previously aired broadcast, this conversation celebrates the anniversary of the book It Came From Memphis by Robert Gordon. During this talk, there are a couple of great stories from the book as well as Robert's thoughts about who would direct this story if it were ever to be made into a movie. Also in this episode, you'll hear some music that accompanies the book as it is likely the only book that has a varied soundtrack. Plus, Ric tells you about who will be visiting Radioland in the coming weeks.

Episode 362: Laughs and Tunes with Peter Parcek
Sunday Jan 17, 2021
Sunday Jan 17, 2021
It's always a good time when you get to have the chance to have a conversation with a well known musician. Especially when the conversation involves a lot of laughs, tunes and some wild stories from the career of Peter Parcek. Buddy Guy once said of Peter, "You're as bad as Eric Clapton & I know Eric Clapton." As Peter will tell you, that remark is an amusing double edged sword. You'll also hear about his time in the UK and all of the people he has played with through the years. Also in this episode, you'll hear some cuts from his brand new CD Mississippi Suitcase. For more on Peter and to get his new disc, you can find it all at his website right here.
NEXT WEEK: Robert Gordon returns.

Sunday Jan 03, 2021
Sunday Jan 03, 2021
This humble little show has now made an appearance on yet another list. This time through The Hollywood Digest as "2020's Most Laid Back Show". Once again, we find ourselves in great company and again, we are humbled. In a way, you could say this is an "award winning" show. It's a great way to wrap up a bummer of a year and a nice kick start to 2021, for sure. In this episode, in keeping with an apparent "laid back" style, Ric sits down with actress and singer Jessica Heim for a conversation about the ups and downs of show business. Also, they play favorites and if that weren't enough, there is some overtime at the end of the show.

Sunday Dec 27, 2020
There is an old saying that goes, "Sometimes the sun will shine on a dog's ass." Although we are not 100% sure exactly what that means, it does seem to hold a bit of truth when it comes to this show. The fine people at Hollywood Entertainment News put out a list of the "Best/Most Entertaining Podcast Hosts of 2020." As shocking as it was to even make the list, Ric found himself at number 25. There are some great hosts and shows represented on that list as well. This turned out to be quite the honor. And to think Ric nearly killed off this show. Also in this episode, Ric sits down with R&B hitmaker Ian Guerin for a conversation about writing music and the entertainment life in a pandemic.

Episode 358: Merry Sort of Christmas & Wendy Stuart
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
As Christmas bears down on us all, this year seems rather muted. Some people are trying to find any joy during the end of this tumultuous year. There is some hope out there and it's just going to be a matter of all of us hunkering down and getting through this together in a sort of distant matter. Along those lines, Ric sits down with model and entertainer Wendy Stuart who will bring some cheer to your eggnog , if you know what we're saying. Wendy was a fixture at Studio 54 and other influential New York Clubs as well as her modelling work and a book she has written about her experiences. If that wasn't enough, she created a cooking show to keep herself busy through the pandemic. Not bad for a Covid-19 survivor. A story you will hear in this episode.

Sunday Dec 06, 2020
A social media "safe space" out there who is rather loud about their non-censorship is having an issue that may well test their own rules. It turns out that Parler is trying to figure out how to deal with an apparent porn problem. They pride themselves in never wanting to delete a post (for whatever reason) and having this little issue, as amusing as it has become, might be testing the very limits of what they consider "free speech". Plus a conversation taken from Radio Memphis in The Morning with Ted Drozdowski and his band Coyote Motel from Nashville. You'll also hear a cut from their latest collection of songs.
NEXT WEEK: Rocky Kramer

Episode 355: The Turkey is A Lie & Andrew Cole
Sunday Nov 29, 2020
Sunday Nov 29, 2020
It is one of the few times of the year when just about everybody is eating the exact same thing. People will go on and on about how it is their favorite meal of the year. But, is it? If people really liked the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, don't you think they would have it more than one time of the year? If people were to let their traditions down, it would cripple the turkey industry. Let's not even get started about Christmas dinner. Also, a conversation with Andrew Cole, a musician originally from Liverpool, UK and now residing in California is trying to make it through the pandemic. His view of the music industry and what the world will look like after this is interesting. Plus, a performance from Andrew Cole and his song Cover Me.

Episode 354: Thanksgiving & The Starlite Campbell Band
Sunday Nov 22, 2020
Sunday Nov 22, 2020
As we all make our way to this year's Thanksgiving holiday, there are a few things people are needing to keep in mind about just how different this year's celebrations will be. It has been said, "If you plan on a large Thanksgiving, be sure and plan a funeral for Christmas." Dark and grim for sure. However, those are rather appropriate words as Ric will explain in this episode. Also, Ric and Eljay sat down with Suzy and Simon from The Starlite Campbell Band (who are in Portugal at the moment) to have a talk about how Covid is affecting musicians on that side of the Atlantic and to debut a new song.
NEXT WEEK: Andrew Cole is living the hobo dream.
